Unlike withdrawal, suspension is suspending the operator’s certificate where client is obliged to submit the corrective action within a given time period.
An operator’s certificate can be suspended or withdrawn in response to:
When suspended or withdrawn, an operator must not market or sale any product as organic.
In case of scope reduction, the part/ product that was reduced from the scope, must not be marketed or sold as organic.
Re-instatement of a suspended certificate/ operator can be done after review of corrective actions submitted by the operator and verifying that the submitted corrective actions are effectively implemented. A follow-up audit &/or sampling may be required in order to verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.
After reduction of scope, if oprator wishes to extend the same scope which was reduced, Krushicert may take a decision after review of corrective actions submitted by the operator and verifying that the submitted corrective actions are effectively implemented. Krushicert keep the control file of operator for at least five years in case of termination/ withdrawn of its operator’s certificate.
Any operator whose certificate is been withdrawn, can only re-apply after 5 years from the date for certification as a new applicant.

Krushicert shall suspend and cancel a certification as per part 13 of the SFCR.
Krushicert shall report to its CVB all suspensions, change of a CB by an operator, and cancellations it issues on the 25th of each month, in case such decisions are made, or shall be provided as defined by the CVB. All reports shall include the name of the holder of certificate, the date of issue and the reason for the action.
Krushicert shall not grant certification to an applicant who had its certification previously cancelled and whose name appears on the CFIA published list of cancelled organic certifications unless the applicant has submitted an application for certification to a CFIA accredited CB as per section C.2, and has completed the evaluation process and closed all the nonconformities.
Krushicert shall submit to the CFIA a request for removing the name of the holder of certificate from the list of cancelled holders of certificates posted on the CFIA web site.
Krushicert shall proceed with granting a certification after receiving confirmation from the CFIA that the operator is removed from the CFIA list.
The Organic Production Systems: General Principles and Management Standards (CAN/CGSB-32.310) require that the Standard be fully applied on a production unit at least 12 months before the harvested product is considered organic for these food commodities (per 5.1.1 and 7.2.8). These 12 months must be under the oversight of a CFIA accredited certification body (CB).
A cancelled operator who wishes to be reinstated must apply as a new applicant as per section 344 of the SFCR. CFIA interprets the requirements as follows:
NOTE For COR: When certification is requested, Krushicert ensures that the applicant does not offer for sale any product "represented as organic" or bearing the word organic or its derivatives until the applicant receives the certificate from the CB.
